Fluent Wallet is the next-generation browser extension wallet designed for seamless interaction with decentralized applications (dApps) on the Conflux Network. Built as a successor to ConfluxPortal, Fluent offers enhanced functionality, improved user experience, and future-ready features such as multi-account support, dApp account switching, and multi-mnemonic account management.
Whether you're a long-time Conflux user or new to the ecosystem, this comprehensive guide walks you through installing, setting up, and using Fluent Wallet with confidence.
Why Switch to Fluent Wallet?
ConfluxPortal was built on a modified version of MetaMask, which limited its scalability and long-term development potential. To overcome these constraints, Fluent Wallet was developed from the ground up to deliver better performance, security, and flexibility.

Key Features of Fluent Wallet
- ✅ Multi-account authorization – Manage multiple accounts under one wallet.
- ✅ Seamless dApp account switching – Switch between accounts without reconnecting.
- ✅ Support for multiple mnemonic phrases – Organize different seed phrases into labeled groups.
- ✅ Private key import/export – Regain access to existing keys securely.
- ✅ Token addition and asset management – Easily add custom tokens and track balances.
Future updates will include multi-chain support, UI scaling options, transaction fee memory settings, and more—making Fluent a truly next-gen Web3 gateway.
Note: ConfluxPortal will no longer receive updates. Support and issue resolution are now prioritized for Fluent Wallet. While you can keep Portal installed temporarily, we recommend transitioning to Fluent as soon as possible.

Creating and Importing Accounts
Setting Up Your Password
Every time you install Fluent—on any device or browser—you must set a new password. This password protects your local data and is not recoverable if lost.
- Launch Fluent from your browser toolbar.
- Click Create on the welcome screen.
- Set a strong password and confirm it.
Your password is only stored locally—never on servers or backups.
Importing an Existing Account
If you previously used ConfluxPortal, you can import your accounts using either mnemonic phrase or private key.
Using a Mnemonic Phrase
- After setting your password, select Import Account.
- Choose Import Mnemonic.
- Enter a name for this account group (e.g., “Main Wallet”).
- Input your 12- or 24-word recovery phrase exactly as written.
- Confirm the words in order to verify accuracy.
- Click Create to finalize.
You’ll now see the first account derived from that seed phrase. To view all associated accounts:
- Click the account name (e.g., Seed-1-1) in the top-left corner.
- A dropdown will display all available accounts under this mnemonic.
⚠️ Important: Accounts created via private key in ConfluxPortal cannot be recovered through mnemonic import. You must manually import the private key into Fluent.
Using a Private Key
To recover a private-key-based account:
- Click the menu (☰) in the top-right corner.
- Go to Account Management.
- Tap Add (+) > Import Private Key.
- Enter a custom label (e.g., “Cold Storage”).
- Paste your private key (without “0x” prefix).
- Confirm with your password.
The account will appear immediately in your wallet dashboard.
Creating a New Wallet with Mnemonic
To generate a brand-new wallet:
- From the Add Account screen, select New Mnemonic.
- Name your account group.
- Proceed to the backup screen where Fluent generates your recovery phrase.
- Carefully write down the words in order.
- Verify by selecting them in sequence.
- Finalize creation and enter your wallet.
🔐 Always store your mnemonic offline—never share it or save it digitally.
Exporting Your Keys
You can export both mnemonics and private keys for backup or migration purposes.
Export Mnemonic Phrase
- Go to Account Management.
- Under a mnemonic-based account group, click View Mnemonic.
- Enter your password to reveal the phrase.
Export Private Key
- In Account Management, locate the specific account.
- Click the 🔑 icon next to it.
- Authenticate with your password to view the private key.
🔒 Never expose these keys online or to third parties.
Adding Custom Tokens
To track non-default tokens like those from DeFi platforms or NFT marketplaces:
- On the main wallet screen, click the + next to Assets.
- Search by token name or paste its contract address.
- Click + beside the correct token—it turns into a checkmark (☑️).
- Return to the dashboard to see your newly added balance.
Tokens added this way sync automatically when network data is available.
Using Fluent with dApps
Fluent maintains backward compatibility with dApps built for ConfluxPortal. Most apps will work without changes until March 31, 2025.

Connecting to TSpace (NFT Marketplace Example)
- Open TSpace.io in your browser.
- Click Connect Wallet—Fluent will auto-detect and prompt you.
- Select your desired account and network (e.g., Conflux Core).
- Confirm connection.
Once connected:
- The wallet shows "Connected" under your address.
- To disconnect or switch accounts: click “Connected” > choose “Disconnect” or change address.
Making a Transaction
Let’s say you want to list an NFT for sale:
- Go to My Space > select an NFT > click PUT ON SELL.
- Set price and confirm listing.
- Fluent pops up requesting signature authorization.
- Review details and click Confirm.
- Wait for transaction confirmation on-chain.
Check the History tab in Fluent to verify success.
💡 If a dApp fails to connect while both Portal and Fluent are installed, rest assured: Fluent takes priority. Connection issues are likely due to temporary dApp-side compatibility—not wallet configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Do I need to uninstall ConfluxPortal before using Fluent?
A: No. You can keep both installed. Fluent will be used by default when connecting to dApps.
Q: Why doesn’t my token balance show up in Fluent?
A: Some dApps may not yet fully support Fluent’s API structure. Try refreshing or checking via blockchain explorers directly.
Q: Can I resize the Fluent popup window?
A: Currently, full-screen mode isn’t available, but users have requested an expanded view feature—similar to Portal’s “Expand View.” This is under active development.
Q: Does Fluent remember gas (Drip) settings?
A: Not yet, but there are plans to implement memory for custom Drip values so frequent transactions use preferred defaults automatically.
Q: How do I report bugs or suggest features?
A: Submit feedback at Fluent Wallet Support.
Q: Is my CFX stuck if I can’t send it out?
A: Ensure you're on the correct network and have sufficient Drip (gas). If issues persist after checking balance and network status, double-check token visibility settings or contact support.
Optimize Your Web3 Journey
As the official successor to ConfluxPortal, Fluent Wallet sets a new standard for usability, security, and extensibility in the Conflux ecosystem.
Whether you're trading NFTs, staking assets, or exploring DeFi protocols, Fluent ensures smooth, secure interactions across all dApps—today and tomorrow.
